Irkutskgeofizika has been operating for over fifty years and is currently one of the largest companies specializing in geophysical and geological surveys in Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East.
The company carries out a wide range of geophysical works and prospecting for oil, gas, and solid minerals, performs hydrogeological and exploration works, as well as conducts geodynamic, hydrogeological, and environmental monitoring.
Irkutskgeofizika has performed numerous successful surveys and studies aimed at determining the hydrocarbon potential of the southern portion of the Siberian platform, given the unique geological and geographical conditions of the region. At the areas where exploration was performed, eleven oil and gas fields were discovered, including the major Kovykta gas condensate field and the Verkhnechonsk oil and gas field. The company’s specialists also discovered the Sukhoi Log hard-rock deposit, the Sayan group of rare earth metal and polymetallic deposits, the Nepsky potash salt basin, and others.
The enterprise has a large staff of geoscientists and geologists with a long work experience in the Irkutsk Region and outside its territory. Irkutskgeofizika’s facilities are located at Irkutsk, Bodaybo, Bratsk, Ust-Kut, and Zhigalovo. It also has a network of field camps established at the areas of exploration. The enterprise includes the divisions that earlier comprised parts of Irkutskgeologia and VostSibNIIGGiMS.
To perform geophysical surveys, the company applies modern equipment and devices, including multichannel telemetry systems, multichannel electrical telemetry stations, the seismic processing system, interactive systems of geophysical data interpretation, high-precision global positioning systems, electric total stations, modern high-precision gravimeters and magnetometers. Irkutskgeofizika cooperates with major well-known Russian and foreign companies.
